Hoping someone might have some information on where I can locate this album.
The album was a 78. Red Prysock and Sil Austin were both noted sax players
of the 40,s, 50.s and 60,s. Red Prysock played for awhile with the Alan
Freed Rock and Roll Band. This particular album featured one side of each
player improvising against the other, thus the title "Battle Royal".

take of Al Jolson singing "Liza", American
catalog number 4402 on the Brunswick label. Because there are no take
numbers printed in the wax on Brunswick issued, I cannot give you one. Rumour
has it that a collector found it on an Australian issue. It's vastly
different than the normal take... it might have been recorded with a
different Orchestra on a different date.
If anyone can help me find a copy of this they will be greatly
rewarded.
