    The society held their first convention Oct 1997 and featured recitals of Billy Mayerl piano compositions, played by Eric Parkin and William Davies, and a 1930's dance band playing Mayerl arrangements led by David Ebbage, the Spa Palm Court Orchestra.

    Formed in 1990, the society has around 200 members - 70 from India, the rest from US and Europe. Publishes a quarterly journal The Record News (consisting of 50/70 photocopied pages). Collectors of ethnic music can make excellent contacts at SIRC.
