Bix Beiderbecke's name first appeared on a record label when he took a group to the Gennett studios of the Starr Piano Co.
in Richmond, Indiana on Jan 26, 1925. Bix's name appeared as composer of Davenport Blues as well as leader of the group Bix and his Rhythm Jugglers.
